UNM's University Libraries opens applications for OER grant program

This fall, the College of University Libraries and Learning Sciences is accepting proposals for its fourth annual Open Educational Resources Grant Program to support faculty, instructors and graduate students ready to harness the power of OER to positively impact the learning outcomes of their students.
Grants this year will focus on projects that adopt and adapt Open Educational Resources. Whether you want to integrate existing open materials or customize them to fit your course, this program will provide the funding, resources and expertise you need.
During 2025, the OER initiative at UNM saved students $586,554 and supported the faculty as they integrated OER into their courses. That's hundreds of thousands of dollars kept in students' pockets -- money that can help them stay enrolled and succeed.
OER work, particularly OER authorship and development, can require extra effort on the part of instructors. Register for this session to receive information about the program:

* Discover OER research methods and repositories;
* Ask questions of the OER Librarian.
Information session dates:
The deadline to submit applications for the second annual Open Textbook Pilot Program is Oct. 1, 2026. A subcommittee of the OER Working Group will evaluate these proposals. Work in this program should begin in the spring of 2027.
